On Sunday 9th June Laurencekirk Bowling Club welcomed 20 teams from around the Mearns and further afield to the annual open triples competition sponsored by Neil Ingram, Joiner and Funeral Director. A warm sunny day punctuated by heavy showers saw the competitors battle their way through a round robin, quarter finals and semi finals. The two teams to emerge as finalists were Molly Lownie, Gladys Walker and John Walker (Portlethen) and Sye Jamieson, Raymond McDougall and Robert Smith (St Cyrus). After a close run game, Porthlethen triumphed by 8 shots to 5.
