The Laurencekirk Rotary Club is delighted to host one of the leading Bands from the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, and appeal to the public to support the Event.
On Thursday 1st of August the Blackburn and Darwen Big Band with 18 musicians will perform in Mearns Academy. The Band was set up in 2001 to encourage up and coming players who wanted to perform their skills further. They have now performed their wonderful jazz and blues music throughout the UK and in recent years have played to great acclaim in France and Belguim. The Band plays a variety of styles and has a wide range of repertoire from Van Morrison to Amy Winehouse, from Herbie Hancock to Henry Mancini.
The Mearns Academy Hall on 1st of August at 7.30 pm is the place to be. Tickets are £7 from Michie’s Chemist or Rotary Members.
