Luthermuir Gala Week kicked off on Monday night with a successful Potted Sports event for kids. Tickets sold out quickly for Wednesday’s Ladies Shopping and Pamper Evening which included a Fashion Show by Encore from Fettercairn.
Following on from last year’s success, Friday night sees the return of the Cookery Night featuring recipes from some local gents. At the time of going to press, a few tickets are still available for this event.
The main event, Gala Day, takes place on Sunday 8th June with a wide range of activities going on in the Park and the Hall. Highlights include a Fun Dog Show (registration from 1pm), Highland Dancers and new to the Gala this year, there will be the opportunity to have a go at Archery with the team from Mearns Archery and have a caricature drawn by DV Cartoons. 2Wit 2Woo Owl Rescue Centre will have some of their birds of prey on display and there will be a chance to handle them and have your photo taken. There will also be many stalls in the Hall and out in the Park, games and of course refreshments in the form of Teas & Homebakes or Beer Tent & BBQ, depending on your preference! The fun kicks off at 1pm in the Village Park.
To round off Gala Week, Scots Corner have arranged an evening of entertainment from well-known Arbroath band Pepperpot, Sunday 8th June, 6-9pm in the bar.
