On the school run this morning I seen a lady blonde hair tied back black jacket with a brown staffy type dog let her dog take a dump on Johnston street and not pick it up! There was kids walking behind her! Anyway I dropped off kids and went back to look for her but she was gone. So if this was you go and get it picked up. You hovered over it with what looked like a poop bag and changed your mind... why! Disgusting! ... See MoreSee Less

Seriously what is wrong with some dog owners ...I had to clean dog shit off the wheels of the buggy this afternoon, shouldn't have to waste my time doing that!! absolutely disgusting, had to dodge numerous piles walking down blackiemuir! Honestly I'm so angry , why would someone leave a huge pile in middle pavement!! Proper scummy!!!

Howe o' The Mearns Heritage Club received a small box found in a house in Jedburgh.
The carefully crafted cigarette case had been crafted by one of the inmates at the Northhill POW camp. It shows an etched view from within the camp as well as decoration on the reverse.
Does anyone else have stories of the camp or the prisoners , many of whom worked on the farms or at Stracathro Hospital?

There was a prisoner called Herbert, a German that came to work on our farm. He was very young. My great grandparents and my young grandfather treated him well, so much so, that he and his wife appeared back to visit in the early 90's. He was very grateful for being 'looked after' when he came to the farm. From what he reported, others were not as fortunate.

My Husband ,Andy, can remember seeing the prisoners coming off the train to go to the camp. I

Could be Douglas (Duggie). Black Patterdale (wee beardy bit). Bandana around collar and harness on?

Last seen where red dot is in the farm. We followed it then I got out car to try get it but it ran so fast and seemed wary. Another woman who was also trying to get the dog said she was following it from Blackiemuir. This was about an hour ago. A few of us were looking for him. X
