Local Mearns girl, Alannah Moar, is getting set for her biggest performance yet. Over the last six months singer and songwriter Alannah has made her way through four rounds of different types of auditions, and fought off tough competition from around 300 other acts, to win her place in the final 13 of the Soundwaves Music Competition.
The final takes place at the O2 ABC in Glasgow on Saturday 9th January 2016, with doors opening at 6pm. Here Alannah, along with the 12 other acts, will have a 10 minute slot to perform to the live audience and a panel of music industry judges.
Alannah said “This is a great opportunity for me to use the competition as a platform to get my music heard more widely, as well as by music industry people who will be in attendance, and will be a fantastic experience performing on the same stage that has been host to a number of my musical heroes!”
The winner is decided using the fairest possible method which is 50% judges score, 25% public vote and 25% number of ticket sales, with the act with the highest score winning the competition. If you would like to support Alannah by attending the final and/or by buying tickets then please get in touch at themoarfamily@yahoo.com. Tickets cost £6.50 each, sorry no under 14s are allowed. All tickets bought through Alannah will go towards her final score.
