MCR Pathways, a national award-winning mentoring charity, is appealing for volunteer mentors to inspire young people in Mearns.
At its core, MCR Pathways is based on a simple premise: mentors dedicate just 50 minutes each week to listen, build a trusting relationship and help a young person realise their potential by empowering them with confidence and self-belief. Volunteers not only experience the satisfaction of helping their mentee discover their talents but also have the opportunity to forge a bond that can last a lifetime.
Mhairi Middleton, Senior Partnerships Manager for the North at MCR Pathways, said
“Our mentoring programme is well established and has proven to be a positive, and transformational experience for both young people and their mentors, who come from all walks of life. We would be delighted to hear from any local people who might be able to give just one hour per week. We require mentors of all ages and levels of experience, as their involvement fosters diverse and inclusive support networks that are crucial for our young learners’ growth and success. We’d also love to hear from local employers who would like to support staff to get involved. Mentors and their employers gain significantly from the experience for relatively little time commitment.”
