The Laurencekirk Development Trust was launched in 2013 after the introduction of a Westminster “Austerity Budget” in the wake of the economic crash. At the time local authorities were warned that their budget would not return to 2007 levels for at least 14 years!
We were warned that the impact would be to withdraw many of the traditional but non-statutory functions of councils. With the oil and gas price a major victim of the crash, we had more to lose than many other areas.
What Brexit will bring no one knows but the pundits don’t expect any miracles. Laurencekirk awaits!
