Last Friday (1st Feb), with Academy pupils and staff having a midterm break, the members of Laurencekirk News Group decanted themselves to Dickson’s Cafe to ensure dehydration was not a threat.
The topics covered the fibber and the clype (Huhnes); the benefits of eating horse meat (run faster and jump higher) and why Bulgarians would prefer to move somewhere else rather than the UK.
The Laurencekirk News Group meet in Mearns Academy every Friday morning from 9.30 to 10.30 am to discuss the previous week’s headlines and unusual stories. Led by Peter Reilly, the group endeavour to find Laurencekirk’s answers to the world’s problems.
