President Marion welcomed members and three recipients of charity cheques – Catalyst Vineyard Church, Scottish Charity Air Ambulance and ARCHIE Foundation.
Our speaker this month was Kathleen, our secretary who is walking 18 miles on the Aberdeen Kiltwalk in aid of the ARCHIE FOUNDATION. The walk begins at the Duthie Park and ends at Bellfield Park in Banchory. The walk is estimated to take between 6 and 10 hours. Kathleen was joined by members of her family. The reason for choosing this charity was to repay the Friends of the Neonatal Unit – part if the ARCHIE Foundation for all the support given to Kathleen’s granddaughter who spent 11 days there after her birth in June, 2022.
We will also have presented cheques locally to Hanging baskets, Christmas lights, Foodbank with Catalyst Church who distribute to local villages. Also SSPCA, Archie Foundation, Good to Give Respite Home, Mearns Minibus Link, Defibrillator Fund and MND.
We will be attending the Summer Fayre being held at the Mearns Academy on 17 June. Please come along and see what we get up to!
Our last meeting of this session will be an outing in June – we will reconvene in September.
