Laurencekirk Amateur Musical Society are bringing “Nunsense: The Mega-Musical Version” to the St Laurence Hall for the first time from the 19th – 22nd November 2014.
The musical comedy “Nunsense” has kept audiences laughing since the Little Sisters of Hoboken made their off-Broadway debut in 1986. Nunsense the mega musical is a musical with a difference and it delivers an unexpected mixture of review, pantomime and comedy. However, the show’s wacky plot and the characters in it epitomise American-style humour.
What is the show all about? To save their convent from financial ruin, the Little Sisters of Hoboken have “One Last Hope” to raise the money and properly bury their accidentally poisoned sisters. What will they do? Why throw a fundraiser, of course. The nuns’ ingenuity shines as they frantically try to raise enough money to bury the remaining four nuns who are being kept in the convent freezer! With fabulous songs, dance numbers and wacky characters, you can expect an evening of toe-tapping, mega-musical fun!
Nunsense follows LAMS highly successful production of Oliver! performed earlier this year in the St Laurence Hall. The cast this time have lost their modesty and decorum through irreligious wit and innuendo whilst fully garbed in habit and wimple. Nunsense is without doubt going to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening of surprise and entertainment and LAMS will once again be serving up another quality production.
