The annual exhibition of work by members of the Society takes place in The Venue, High Street, Laurencekirk over the weekend of Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th October. 16 members of the Society are exhibiting a wide range of works in a variety of media. There is something for everyone: landscapes, seascapes, flower paintings and a number of more abstract pieces.
As in previous years, the artists have donated smaller ‘charity’ pictures to raise funds for local causes. Over the years, in addition to providing Blood Pressure Monitors for Mearns Surgery & supporting Red Cross drivers based in the Surgery, Laurencekirk Artists have donated to: Laurencekirk Christmas Lights & Hanging Baskets Fund, Laurencekirk Scouts & Brownies and Mearns & Coastal Healthy Living Network. Last year, members donated £600 in support of 3 charities: The Stroke Unit within Stracathro Hospital, Pillar, a mental health charity based locally & the Laurencekirk Christmas Lights Appeal.
The Society is grateful for the widespread support it receives from our local community. All are welcome to come and view the 2019 exhibition which is open on Saturday 26th from 10am till 6pm and Sunday 27th from 10am to 4pm.
