At a public meeting held in the Academy on 15th January, Scott Leitch and Simpson Buglass of Halliday Fraser Munro and Graham and Sibbald gave a report on the options for the site.
The preferred option is to create premises to support expansion of existing businesses and the option for new companies to establish themselves in Laurencekirk. The present buildings would be demolished.
A request was made by David Nelson of Mearns Community Council to retain the present playing fields for use by the new Academy.
Further representation can be made to Fraser Halliday Munro before the end of January. After that the Aberdeenshire Councillors will decide the outcome of the site.
